What does it mean to be confident?
It means trusting and believing in oneself, regardless if others don’t. It is being your own cheerleader and being proud of yourself every step of the way. It is understanding and acknowledging that you are one of a kind.
What comes to mind when you think of the word “joy”?
When I think of joy, a settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life comes to mind. I think of contentment when joy comes to mind. I think that despite my current circumstances this inner feeling of great pleasure remains.
Can you identify the time in your life when you began to totally accept yourself and all of your flaws?
I can identify clearly ha-ha. I was 21. Recently ended a two-year relationship and I rededicated my life to Christ. Throughout that relationship, I had low self-esteem and confidence. My boyfriend at the time, stated I would not find anyone better than him. Additionally, I had Therefore, it took a lot of prayer and self-affirmation to really see myself as Christ does.
What do you admire most about yourself?
Great question. I get asked this question a lot and it is still hard for me to answer. However, I would have to say being a resilient woman. I am proud of the woman I have pushed to become.
Fill in the blank: I am….A World Changer
How has your faith contributed to who you are today?
My faith in God plays a major role in who I am because I have seen God do the impossible in my life. My faith has carried me through some of the darkest moments in my life. It’s a part of me.
What would you tell your younger self or someone who has yet to discover her worth?
Love yourself unconditionally, even if the world doesn’t. Your pain is temporary, and God has amazing things in store for you. You have a purpose, you are beautiful, you are loved, you are valuable, and have worth. Do not settle, even when life circumstances will tempt you to do so. I am so excited for your future, because God is going to blow your mind. Be encouraged.
If you could identify a celebrity who you believe exemplifies a Chosen Covergirl, who would that be and why?
Michelle Williams. Based on what I have seen with her transformation from being an artist to a woman who openly shared her struggles of depression and her transparency of needing Jesus. Her authenticity proved that God still heals and uses people who feels they are too broken, unworthy, and far from God. I love that in her weakness God was shown strong in everything she endured.
