Can you identify the time in your life when you began to totally accept yourself and all of your flaws?
I would say about a year ago, I really began to show myself grace. I am my worst critic and because of that, I would not give myself grace when mistakes were made. I was so hard on myself to the point that I would have to remind myself that I was a human.
The moment, I began to be okay with not always getting things right, was the moment I started to stress less. That moment happened because I spent more time seeking to know God’s character. As I began to learn more about who God is, and not only about what He could do for me, I had no choice but to accept that I am a flawed being and that has brought me so much peace and relief.
What does it mean to be confident?
To be confident is to be unapologetically yourself despite your flaws. It is also about embracing how unique you are. As cliche as it may sound, we really are “fearfully and wonderfully” made. Therefore, God took His time in creating us, so why not flaunt his beautiful creation.
What comes to mind when you think of the word “joy”?
When I think of the word joy, I think about hope that cannot be comprehended due to one’s current circumstances. Joy is hope for a brighter day.
What do you admire most about yourself?
My desire to want to help everyone. Although I know that everyone I meet is not my assignment, it does not change the fact that I have a desire to serve and help others.
Fill in the blank: I am….stronger than I think I am by the grace of God.
My faith has been a rollercoaster journey that has essentially brought me closer to God. Each time, I literally felt like I was not going to make it, God ALWAYS came through each and every time.
What would you tell your younger self or someone who has yet to discover her worth?
Do not find your worth through a man. Use your singleness to cultivate the gifts that God has blessed you with and when you do, you will begin to see yourself the way that God sees you.
If you could identify a celebrity who you believe exemplifies a Chosen Covergirl, who would that be and why?
To be honest, I cannot think of a celebrity that exemplifies a Chosen Covergirl. But I would say that your readers are Chosen Covergirls because they have taken the initiative to support a movement that is dedicated to empowering women of God.
